Wednesday Satellite Group
May 1st – Whale Respite Center
Our presenter last week was Tracy Mead, Chief Executive Officer for Project Self Sufficiency.  Ms. Mead has held the position since 2015. Project Self Sufficiency serves single mothers and fathers with children to get resources they need when a situation arises that can wreck a single parent’s life with limited resources.  This includes helping get a reliable vehicle, help with unexpected vehicle repairs, food pantry resources, or help with childcare assistance.
Misty Trefry told us about the programs support and gave us a little background about herself.  She mentored with Kay Norton at UNC and she is forever grateful for the experince.  Individuals that are in other programs in the community still can get assistance from Project Self Sufficiency.  Misty spoke about the wrap-around support that came help someone be more efficient sooner.
Student of the Month
Our Student of the Month for May is Akam Chahal from Greeley West Hight School!  Akam not only attended RYLA but she was a RYLA junior counselor last summer and will do it again this summer.  Akam plans on majoring in political science.  She is involved in the School District 6 Student Health Advisory Council and is a competitive speaker.  After college she plans to become an Attorney.  Akam plans to either go to DU or CU-Boulder.  Congratulations!
Correction on story for exchange student’s home country and misspelling of Caroline’s name.
Introduction of Caroline Yielding's foreign exchange student her family is hosting!

Caroline Yielding introduced an exchange student from Bolivia, Mariano Paz-Duran.  He is attending Northridge High School.  Mariano’s family is involved in Rotary, and he has been wanting to visit since he came to the states in January.  He brought a flag from the Rotary Club in Tarija, Bolivia.  His great-grandfather founded the club in Tarija in 1928.  Thanks for visiting our club!
Golf Tournament Player Gifts

The Golf Committee seeks contributions for the player gift bags this year. You can provide branded items featuring your business name/logo, such as pens, magnets, water bottles, notepads, koozies, etc. You could even attach your business card to a candy bar. Any contribution helps promote your business as we distribute them to each player in our tournament. If you have 100 items to donate, please reach out to Chase Yoder via email at: cyoder@yoderfamilyco.com.

We are also looking for items for the silent auction at the Golf Tournament.
