Updated: Wear Your Rotary Pins Every Day
Posted by Chris Woodruff
Our pin drawing is getting up there in value again. The point of the pin drawing is to encourage each of us to wear our Rotary pins, at least on Thursdays. But wouldn't it be better to wear your pin every day so the people you meet see it?
It means a lot to be a member of Rotary. It is true that many people don't know about Rotary or the work we do and the fun we have. What better advertisement is there than showing your pride at being a Rotarian by wearing your pin. I have been asked many times to explain what my End Polio Now pin means. That gives me a perfect opportunity to talk about our campaign to eradicate polio and the work of Rotary in general. It seems like a great way to find prospective new club members!
So wear your pins every day and be proud to tell our story!
Time for true confessions. I got caught by Romia Pritchett and Erik Sorbo (who were wearing their pins) without mine. We were attending a Greeley Young Professionals meeting to promote a partnership for Santa Cops. They nailed me for not having on my Rotary pin. I deserved every bit of it. Lesson learned, even for the club president. Good job Erik and Romia!
