Announcements - August 2026 | Rotary Club of Greeley (Centennial)

	1- Meet our Exchange Student Caspar has arrived!! Our newest exchange student, Caspar from Finland, arrived Sunday, August 2, for his year in Greeley hosted by Greeley Centennial. Thank you to Kris and Jana Pickett for picking him up and hosting him his first few days since his first host dad, Nick Kenny, had to be out of town on business. Caspar is settling into his classes at University High and is going to try out for football. As a reminder: please think about inviting Caspar over for a meal or take him out to dinner. If you have an extra ticket (or can easily get an extra one for him) to a sporting event, cultural event and anything fun, unique or different, please consider inviting him. He will be coming to a meeting soon so you can meet him. Please make him feel at home!
	2- New Member Alert When President-elect Matt Turner subbed for Kim Larson on July 23rd, he got to induct our first new member of the 2026-27 Rotary year. S[pmspred bu Kean Morrell, Katie Shilts is the owner of The reen Dog Consulting, specializing in helping non-profit organizations. Jean met Katie through A Women's Place Board of Direectors, where Katie currently serves as President. Katie has also served on the board for the Women's Fund of Weld County. We are happy to welcome Katie to our club and look forward to working with her to serve our community.
	3- A Message from the Club Treasurer Fellow Centennial Rotarians, At our last Board meeting in July, The Board approved the budget for 2026/2027. We worked for several months to come up with a budget that we felt met our needs and was fair to all club members. As part of that budget the Board adopted a dues increase for all members. This increase covers the increase in dues that we must pay to Rotary International and District 5440. We also built in a little bit for additional club support. We always work hard to keep our dues reasonable while meeting our financial obligations. You should have received your quarterly billing statement. It reflects the new dues structure. 	4 - Colorado Qwik Draw Our fall fundraiser, the Colorado Qwik Draw, has been scheduled for the evening of Saturday, November 14. Please put it on your calendar. We will start our event planning in the next two weeks and would be thrilled to have new members join us. Our planning meetings take place via Zoom, to take less time out of our day.
