1 - Change of schedule for November and December
With the holidays fast approaching, we looked at our meeting schedule for November and December and decided to shift our two meetings to the 1st and 3rd Thursdays, so that we can still have 2 meetings in both months.  Put meetings in your calendar on November 6th and 20th, plus December 4th and 18th!

2 - Last Chance to Share Input on annual Christmas Party
Help us plan for Centennial Rotary's annual Christmas Party - scheduled on December 18.
December 18 is the last day of school for Greeley/Evans District 6 and other districts in the area. To determine whether we will schedule a children's party on the 18th, we need to see how many parents/grandparents want to bring children to our meeting to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.  Please click the link below to take a 3-question survey.

3. Student of the Month for October
Tim Warde introduced our Student of the Month from Northridge High School. The Northridge counselor shared Jesse’s wide range of accomplishments. He is Student Body Vice-president, a member of the Sources of Strength program, and is one of the very few students in District 6 that were awarded a Vestas Apprenticeship. He has been the Boys & Girls Club Youth of the Year for two years running and placed 2nd statewide.  Hannah said that Jesse is so deserving of the honor.

Jesse thanked the club and shared a few more things he has been involved in. He helped develop a new “Junior Youth of the Year” at the Boys and Girls Club and will serve as the emcee for the first award breakfast. He is also very involved with the Workforce Development Board. Looking back on the deprivation of his early youth, Jesse plans to take a double major in college in business marketing and psychology and is focused on being a social worker to help youth who don’t have resources necessary to succeed.

4 - World Polio Day
Club Foundation Chair Stewart Abbot spoke in honor of World Polio Day (October 24). He reminded us of the history of Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign. We are now down to only three countries that still have endemic polio virus.  He encouraged club members to make a contribution to Polio Plus through a special “event” link that was sent on Oct. 24, knowing that the Gates Foundation will contribute a 2X match for each dollar. Polio Plus contributions collected through the “event” totaled almost $800, meaning a total of $2325 will help the fight against polio. Way to go, Centennial!
